The Register of Heritage Contractors aims to
provide contractors with the opportunity to demonstrate their proficiency in the field of
heritage works, while providing both public and private clients with an accessible list of
reliable heritage contractors.
The Register is divided into two parts:
Main Contractors, who are available for
larger projects and who have demonstrated their experience in managing heritage projects
for all types of heritage works and
Specialist Contractors, who have
demonstrated experience in executing projects in one or more of the specialist categories.
The criteria for the Register is set out and agreed by the Heritage Registration Board and all contractors are approved by a separate Selection Committee. The Heritage Registration Board includes representatives from the Department of Environment, Heritage and Local Government; Office of Public Works; Heritage Council; Irish Georgian Society; Royal Institute of Architects of Ireland; Limerick Institute of Technology; Private Sector Professionals; Construction Industry Federation. |
